The acquisition is a great fit for both parties, who are committed to providing the most reliable and efficient heating products to the homes and businesses of their valued customers across North America, officials from both companies said.

“Trusted, reliable and high quality products will continue to be manufactured at the two plants in Utica and Dunkirk, New York,” the announcement added.

“ECR International is a solid company with a portfolio of successful brands, and we are delighted to welcome its employees to the Granby family,” said Pierre Fournier, President of Granby. “ECR fits perfectly into our business portfolio, and we look forward to continued growth and further strengthening our position in the North American heating market. “

Following his management career at ECR International, Ron Passafaro, President and CEO, will retire. Mitch O’Connor, who was vice president of operations, will assume the role of president. Paul Totaro, vice president and chief financial officer of ECR, will also retire, officials said.

ECR International has been manufacturing heating and cooling products for almost 100 years under a family of brands such as Utica Boilers, Dunkirk, Olsen, Pennco, RetroAire, Argo and EMI. Since its founding in 1954, Industries Granby has become the North American leader in the manufacture and distribution of residential, light commercial and light industrial tanks for the safe storage and distribution of combustible liquids. With environmental concerns at the forefront, Granby Industries continues to follow a strict policy in its product offering and manufacturing processes to help protect the environment, the announcement added.
