TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Untether AI co-founder Raymond Chik was honored by the Association of China-Canadian Entrepreneurs (ACCE) at a gala dinner hosted by ACCE in Toronto on April 23, 2022. In 2018, Dr. Chik, Dr. Martin Snelgrove, and Darrick Wiebe founded Untether AI. This year, ACCE honored this foundation and the progress made by Untether AI as pioneers of in-memory computing for accelerating artificial intelligence (AI) inference by awarding him and the Startup of the Year company.

ACCE organizes the Chinese Canadian Entrepreneur Awards in association with Centennial College’s Center for Entrepreneurship, PwC and Ming Pao Daily News. The awards promote entrepreneurship in the Chinese-Canadian community, encourage the start-up of new businesses, and promote the social responsibility of entrepreneurs, among others. Nominations come from peers in the ACCE community and awards are determined by an independent jury from Centennial College, KPMG, PwC, Ernst & Young, Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and The Globe and Mail.

Hong Kong-born Dr. Chik originally came to Toronto as a student on a high school visa. He earned his Masters in Electrical Engineering, Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Dr. Chik has a distinguished history in developing established and early-stage semiconductor companies and building startups. His professional background includes Mosaid, Snowbush, InVisage Technologies, Issumatek Ltd and Kapik Integration before co-founding Untether AI.
