Optician services franchise Specsavers recently celebrated the opening of its new Surrey, BC location in downtown Guildford.

While company officials said in a press release that they “are proud of each new store and the collaboration with local retail and optometry partners,” this store represents a particularly exciting time. because it is the company’s 2500.e global location in the world.

Specsavers aims to become the Canadian market leader by 2024 by opening more than 200 clinics and optical stores across the country, serving patients and customers in urban and rural communities. Since opening its first Canadian location in fall 2021, Specsavers has opened a total of 12 locations across British Columbia

“Specsavers is proud to celebrate this achievement in Canada alongside local owner and optometry partner, Dr. Mannie Dhillon. All Specsavers optical clinics and stores are owned by local optometrists and opticians through a franchise partnership model that allows optometrists to prioritize the needs of their communities and provide the best possible eye care,” says the Press release.

Founded in the UK nearly 40 years ago by team of husband and wife optometrists Doug and Mary Perkins, Specsavers equips its optometrists and opticians with the latest imaging and clinical technology to provide comprehensive eye examinations, which include an OCT (optical coherence tomography), a 3D eye scan. Available to all patients at no additional cost, the use of this technology has proven to have a measurable impact in the early detection of debilitating health conditions.
