Cannabis retailer ShinyBud has announced plans to open 20 franchise stores in 2022.

Ontario cannabis retailer ShinyBud has officially launched its retail franchise program.

The company is launching its franchise program with the goal of opening 20 franchise stores in 2022. ShinyBud currently has over 35 corporate and licensed locations across Ontario addressing various consumer profiles.

Leading this growth initiative is the company’s chief operating officer (COO), Michael Nadeaua veteran with over 20 years of experience as a retail COO for some Canada quick-service restaurants, such as Tim Hortons and those under RECIPE Unlimited.

“Over the past year, the ShinyBud label has generated strong momentum and we have assembled a team at the board and executive level with exceptional expertise in branding, franchising and operating the retail,” said Nadeau. “This expertise is backed by nationally recognized retail brands and is unmatched in the growing cannabis sector. We plan to emulate the same principles of success as we launch our franchise program and continue to grow the ShinyBud brand.

“Applying the franchise business model advances our growth strategy in 2022 and beyond,” added Kevin Roseau, Chairman and CEO of the company. “As we grow, we are seeing strong incoming interest in this type of business partnership, and we have the basic skills to do it right. We look forward to welcoming new partners to the ShinyBud family to join our mission to create a more accessible cannabis experience through Ontario.”

The company’s franchise program provides retail management support in all areas of the business, including location research and design, lease negotiation, onboarding, regulations industry and marketing, as well as award-winning products and strong relationships with reputable licensed cannabis producers.
