McDonald’s McCafé is launching its new McCafé High Grown Organic Dark Roast Coffee, the brand’s first retail-exclusive coffee product.

The new infusion is made from 100% Arabica beans grown at high altitudes in the coffee growing regions of Central and South America.

“The influence of altitude on coffee beans is impactful, providing the ideal growing conditions for the beans to release brighter, more vibrant flavors,” says Danielle Wedge, Marketing Director for the McCafé Retail Portfolio. “We are excited to offer this elevated coffee drinking experience exclusively through our retail partners and know coffee drinkers will love the difference that ‘high culture’ brings to the table.”

The new product can be found in a variety of formats, including individual 10-cup k-cup pods, 300g (11oz) finely ground bags and 300g (11oz) whole bean bags. The products are now available for purchase online and in grocery stores and specialty retailers nationwide.

McCafé High Grown Organic Dark Roast Coffee is a retail exclusive, making it the only branded product not currently available at McDonald’s restaurants across Canada.

“Made from 100% ethical, Rainforest Alliance-certified beans, each cup of McCafé High Grown Organic Dark Roast coffee contributes to the well-being of coffee farmers, their communities, and the surrounding forests and wildlife. It is certified organic by TCO Cert in accordance with Canadian organic standards. This certification guarantees that the products are produced and processed according to a system that strives to preserve the principles of health, ecology, care and fairness,” reads a press release.
