DUNKERQUE — A Dunkirk manufacturer of HVAC equipment has been taken over by a Canadian company.
Granby Industries LP, a division of TerraVest Industries Inc., announced that it has acquired all of the issued and outstanding shares of ECR International Corp. ECR, headquartered in Utica, is a privately held manufacturing company that manufactures heating and cooling products under a family of brands in North America, including the Dunkirk, Utica and Olsen brands, among others.

Mark Geise, Chautauqua County IDA’s general manager and deputy county and economic development manager, said he thought it would be an advantage for the Dunkirk facility. “Rich Dixon (CFO County IDA) spoke to management and they felt it was really good for the local Dunkirk ECR. It was a good partnership. ECR had things TerraVest needs and wants. and they feel that TerraVest is going to invest in companies,” he said.
He was unsure of the number of ECR International employees at its Dunkirk plant.
