The product: Barbie x Smash + Tess

Why we love it: Vancouver-based clothing brand Smash + Tess recently teamed up with Barbie to create a capsule collection that celebrates “the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.”

Originally slated for International Women’s Day, the size-inclusive collection includes the brand’s signature rompers – including options for women and kids – plus a t-shirt and pants, each sporting the recognizable Pantone color.” Barbie pink”.

“Barbie is the original fashion doll that inspired girls to consider a non-traditional path. She represents freedom; women can do what they want and be who they want,” said Ashley Freeborn, Founder and CEO of Smash + Tess, in a press release, “From day one, championing women in leadership roles has been at the forefront of Smash + Tess. This partnership with Barbie takes us one step further in our vision of a better future with diverse and powerful women at the helm.

The collaborative collection also saw the Canadian company commit to donating $10,000 to Girl Up, an initiative that aims to increase leadership roles and opportunities for young girls.
