Centered around the goal of taking the guesswork out of clothing, the style approach also steers shoppers away from potentially wasteful, trend-based purchases.

Canadian entrepreneur Britt Barkwell is looking to make creating the perfect capsule collection even easier with her new collection, T.Line. Under the Trouvaille brand umbrella, Barkwell offers limited editions of timeless pieces – think silk scarves, cotton blouses – that will last season after season. We caught up with Barkwell to find out more.

Q. For those who don’t know, what is T.Line?

A. Founded in 2018, Trouvaille is a lifestyle brand that enables style conscious and organized. We believe in creating thoughtful, edited essentials that last beyond a season. To help you shop less often and buy with more intention, we recently launched our beautiful T.Line collection. With a focus on minimalist elegance, modern silhouettes and high-quality basics, T.Line was born out of our desire to find and design the pieces we ourselves want every season.

Q. What makes it unique?

A. T.Line is released in quarterly capsules, each edition is designed to build on the latest and can be styled effortlessly while creating an elevated collection of exclusive items – edition #001 launched in March and the n°002 will launch this June. Our collections are produced in limited series, and once the capsule is sold out, it’s gone.

Q. Who is the target customer?

A. Style-conscious women around 25-50 with disposable income. She is busy building her career, growing her family, and nurturing her personal and professional relationships. She appreciates beautifully crafted essentials, but has very little time to spend researching online. She’ll use Trouvaille and our T.Line essentials as a handy, reliable resource for a carefully curated collection of “lucky finds.”

Q. What can you share about where the parts are designed and manufactured?

A. T.Line takes a thoughtful approach to our design and production with a mission to create classic styles – using high quality materials – that will stand the test of time. All of our pieces are designed and made in small batches in Toronto by local artisans. We are also committed to slow fashion that does not generate excess inventory, which includes carefully sourcing fabrics from responsible local suppliers to avoid waste.

Q. The company is based on the idea of building a capsule wardrobe. How do you plan to build it in the future?

A. As we grow, we will look to introduce special collections outside of our quarterly drops and collaborations with artisan partners. We are also looking for more permanent retail spaces that will permanently stock our basic T.Line Stirrups and other brands that continue our mission of helping women live beautifully, simply.

A. For the first capsule, prices range from $45 to $225. Our goal is to keep most items under $500 and pass on as much value as possible to the customer. Many of the pieces can be personalized with free monogramming in signature scripts or hand painting. Additionally, to help shoppers get everything they need for less, T.Line parts can also be purchased in select sets with a 10-15% discount.

Q. Finally, where can people verify you.

A. We are online at Findonline.com and plan to launch our first retail space in Toronto this holiday.
