TORONTO — Five things to watch in the Canadian business world in the coming week:

Resource revenue

Some of the biggest names in the Canadian resource sector are expected to release their second quarter results this week. Kinross Gold Corp., Lundin Mining Corp., Teck Resources Ltd. and Crescent Point Energy Corp. should report on Wednesday. Enbridge Inc. and Imperial Oil Ltd. must report on Friday.

Shopify Earnings

Shopify Inc. is expected to report second-quarter results and hold a conference call with investors on Wednesday. The company, which has seen its shares fall from its highs of last year, introduced a series of product enhancements and partnerships last month aimed at expanding the reach of its merchants.

Rogers Communications

Executives from Rogers Communications Inc. will appear before the House of Commons Industry Committee on Monday to answer questions about the massive network outage earlier this month that crippled the company’s wireless and internet services. The company will also release its second quarter results on Wednesday morning and hold a conference call with financial analysts.

Canadian Pacific Results

Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. will release its second-quarter results and hold a conference call with investors on Thursday. In the first quarter, the company announced that its revenues and profits fell due to a poor grain harvest, a harsh winter and a work stoppage.

Economic report

On Friday, Statistics Canada will release gross domestic product figures by industry for the month of May. The agency’s preliminary estimate for the month showed a contraction for the month of 0.2% with output falling in mining, quarrying and oil and gas extraction, manufacturing and construction.
